Rider Report: Meet Greg

My one true belief is loving people.

Some riders grow into the lifestyle by chance. For Greg, it was always a matter of when, not if. “I always knew I would ride motorcycles. Always wanted to.” From popping wheelies on dirt bikes to the deep, rumbling comfort of Harley Davidsons, Greg’s evolution as a rider mirrors the journey of someone who never lost sight of where his passion was leading him. Today, he rides a 2017 Harley Street Glide and a 2005 Honda FTX 1800.

Stories From the Road

Every March, Greg and his family load up the trailer and head south to Florida. They usually start with a visit to his aunt, then keep rolling, looking for all the sunshine and backroads they can find. One of their must ride experiences? The iconic 7 Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. But the adventure doesn’t stop there. From Florida’s open stretches through orange groves and strawberry fields to Daytona Bike Week, the family trips are always about chasing roads, memories, and miles.

Ask Greg where he’d ride if he could wake up anywhere in the world tomorrow, and he already knows the answer: “Anywhere out west in the mountains.” It’s the kind of wide open country that fits a rider who loves to breathe in big landscapes. Greg laughed when asked about his go-to road trip snack…because he’s not really a snack guy. His non-negotiable? Kodiak Wintergreen long cut. Hey, we all have our vices right?

His soundtrack on the other hand? That’s non-negotiable in a different way. “I couldn’t live without music on the bike.” His playlist ranges from Johnny Cash to Eminem, and country to classic rock, whatever fits the moment. One thing’s for sure: if he’s rolling, the music’s rolling too.

Ask any rider about weird things they’ve seen strapped to a bike, and you’ll get some stories. Greg’s answer takes the cake for craziest answer yet: a rider hauling five or six Milwaukee Packout toolboxes stacked and bungee-corded to their bike. “It had to be so top heavy. I have no idea how it didn’t fall over.” We’re just glad we weren’t riding behind that guy.

The Heart of an Outlaw

Greg’s first job was as grounded and hands-on as they come: milking cows and feeding calves on a farm. That early work ethic eventually shaped his path into construction and now his role as a Director of Facilities for HUD housing. Helping people isn’t something he does on the side—it’s woven into everything he touches. He’s fixed homes for people who couldn’t afford repairs and stepped in when someone just needed a hand. He’s the type person who shows up quietly because it’s the right thing to do.

When Greg heard about the mission of Open Heart Outlaws, something clicked immediately. “Nick’s heart is exactly where my heart is. I want to help the people that would never ask for help.” OHO makes it a mission to find exactly those people: the ones quietly carrying a burden.

My one true belief is loving people.

That’s what pulled Greg in. That’s what keeps him here.

Greg rides with grit, heart, and a belief that people deserve love in action, not just words. We’re grateful to have him as part of the OHO family. Let’s rally and sponsor some miles for Greg below!
